This natural processed coffee comes from the Sidama region of Ethiopia. This iconic region in Ethiopia is known for its floral, bright, and fruit forward coffees.
This coffee comes from our friends at Primavera Green Coffee. Primavera has been working closely with Gashu Tafese for several years, and we are so happy to be adding them as our main Ethiopia Natural offering for 2026. This coffee gives us fruit notes of papaya, lychee, fresh strawberry, & sweet peach. The mouthfeel on this coffee is a touch creamier and deeper than other Ethiopian natural coffees on the market. Both this quality, and the vibrant fruit characteristics gives this G1 offering (highest quality available for purchase) a very unique tasting experience.
Gashu Tafese's processing facility is located in Hatesa within the greater Sidama Region of Ethiopia. Here there are both dry processing mills and washing stations that many of the local farmers use to process their coffees. Being a natural offering, this coffee is sent to the dry processing facility. Here, the coffee cherries are sorted and then dried on large African beds. Once fully dried, coffee is sorted once again before being bagged and shipped.
Gashu's coffees are grown in clay soil at a very high altitude of 2000-2150 meters above sea level. This allows the coffee to achieve a brighter and cleaner flavor profile we seek out when tasting Ethi lots.
